BASEBALL: The Dirt Dawgs are holding tryouts for their 2013 travel teams next month a Lewis and Clark Middle School in Yakima. Two sessions will be held ? Sept. 16 from 1-4 p.m. for 12U-14U and Sept. 23 from 1-4 p.m. for 9U-11U. For more information visit www.yakimavalleydirtdawgs.com

BASKETBALL: The Yakima Valley Sports Authority in cooperation with the Amateur Athletic Union is hosting the 2012 Early Fall youth basketball league. The league is for boys and girls in 2nd grade through high school. The cost is $220 per team and the league runs on Sundays between Sept. 23 and Nov. 4. The deadline to register is Sept. 10. ? Sagebrush Hoops Basketball will have tryouts in September for the 2012-13 season. We will have boys and girls teams starting with 4th grade. Please contact sagebrushhoops@yahoo.com if interested.

FOOTBALL: Toppenish Parks and Recreation will hold its annual Punt, Pass and Kick competition at 6 p.m. on Sept. 6 at the Toppenish Middle School football field. The free competition is for boys and girls ages 6 to 15. Winners of each are classification will advance to sectionals in October. To register, contact Toppenish Parks and Recreation at 865-5150 or simply show up on Sept. 6.
